Hello, my name is Alejandro León 😋
Designer, Developer, Entrepreneur 🐰. Born in Venezuela, currently living in Chile. I love the craft of design and the amazing things we can build with technology. 🚀
🤓 Here are some projects in which I am involved:
A work-in-progress web-based design tool to create 3d experiencies.spline.design
Spline is a design tool that works just like Sketch or Figma, but in a 3d space. You can easily create 3d objects the same way you do it in 2d.
🍄 Since everything is in 3d, you can do things that normally would be really hard for traditional 2d design tools.
Looks better in motion 👇
Our goal with Spline is to make easier the creation of 3d for the web. If you want to participate as an alpha tester (and later beta tester), you can sign up here.
👉 Check our instagram (@splinetool) to follow the development progress. We publish videos or pictures every week. 🤘
3d representation of SARS-CoV-2 (under MIT License).spline.design/coronavirus3d
🙋♂️ The model is based on the official images by CDC Public Health Image Library.
😷 Hope this can be helpful to better understand the shape of this virus.

Pieces of information/news from the Design/Dev/Art worlds.fragments.pro
Fragments tries to be a repository of the most popular design/art/tech news so you can see at glance was happening in the world.
In a way, it is like a Hacker News focuseds on design/art (and without comments!).
👉 You can submit ideas for new feeds!
📣Update: Fragments was launched in Product Hunt, and now it is used by more people! 🤣

A funny quiz game to test your knowledge of the anime world.otakugame.fun/
How much do you know about anime?
I was resting from a terrible flu 🤧 in a weekend and this idea came out as the perfect excuse to learn something new.
There are so many anime genres, series 📼, movies 🎬, characters 🎎, and a myriad of interesting topics to learn! So I thought about building something funny that I could share with my friends.
👉 Try it here and test you anime knowledge!
A game inspired by bimanual coordination exercises.synchronygame.com
Oh this is a very cool project. It's my first iOS game! 🤓
Back in 2017, I spend like 3 months in the making 😭 from start to end (including making the website and publishing to the App Store). But it was a lot of fun. If you have an iPhone or iPad, try it. 📱
Designed originally in Sketch 💎 (ported later to Figma). Each of the 8 stages of the game use a different color.
Each stage have 8 levels, so there is a total of 64 levels. It was all done using Unity's animation and script system 🚀.
🕹 Here is a video of how it works:
A smart toy for children that works with Augmented Reality.pleiq.com
Back in 2014, some friends and I founded our first startup and we began our journey into the entrepreneur's world.
PleIQ is a wonderful idea with thousands of work hours required to make it real. It mixes educational activities with Augmented Reality experiencies and the goal is too make learning a fun process.
We learned a lot about AR design and spatial computing: how to create magical experiencies in the space.
PleIQ apps are currently used in real life at homes and schools in Chile.
It amazed me how much of design theory goes to the 🗑 once you start testing it with children 👶🧒 (or to be more precise, once you are being tested by them 😅).
Conceptual UI design for the open-source game engine Godot.godotengine.org
In 2015 did a conceptual UI design for Godot game engine as a personal design challenge.
I initially shared my interest on the RC channel, then on the forum and finally as a github issue.
The github issue 👀 became one of the most discussed thread of the repo in that time, and it was keep open for 3 years. Some developers, inspired by the ideas, ended up building the UI theme of Godot 3.0.
Unfortunately, it is still hard for open-source communities to get design right 😣, and thus the final UI implementation wasn't as good as it could be 😡, but things are getting better and Godot's community is growing really fast! improving design as it moves forward 🤗.
I never thought that my initial concept could have such impact on the community, I feel really happy about it.
🌈 L A B S L A N D 🌈 Here are a couple of ideas that I never got enough time to complete:
A casual game with a geometrical design and funny mechanics.
In Boumm, you are red square trying to find the exit of a geometrical laberint.
📺 This is how it works
A font to create patterns like circuits or diagrams.
Using a 16px grid, the font works pretty well on a pixel level and scales good enough for different sizes and weights.
📼 Just type and create your structures.
Visual experiments made over the years either for fun or to learn.
Sierpinski fractal with SVG
Turing pattern as a result of rotating images using a billinear interpolation.
I put much ❤️ and effort in those 😋
Thanks for stopping by, take care 😘
